Vintage Woodland Coaster Crafted Paper Coaster Set

Crafted in the realms of one of the most deft craft - paper mache - where waste paper is transformed meticulously into colourful and beautiful masterpieces, the box is set to illuminate your home decor in the most classy way. The box is given a wooden base to provide it strength, which is covered with the processed waste paper, over which a naqash or painter paints bright and beautiful little ruby flowers in multi colours of red, blue, purple and white. The box can be used for storage or simply as shelf decor to set your interiors class apart.About Paper Mache Paper Mache is a delicate decorative art, born in Persia and brought to Kashmir by a Prince who spent years in a prison at Samarkand in Central Asia. The surroundings harnessed the creativity and romance for this art and finally Paper Mache took its roots in the simple homes and thus a new art form was born.  Paper Mache became the folk art of Kashmir; passing down from father to son, from generation to generation. Paper Mache involves two main steps: Sakhtsazi is the actual production of the item and Naqashi is when the item is painted with any number of motifs.
